MLA - Sri. Kovoor Kunjumon (Kunnathoor)
Son of Shri Podiyan and Smt. K. Sarada, Born at Kovoor (5km away from Sasthamcotta jn.) on 25th May 1968. He is a political and social worker.

Educational Qualification : Pre Degree

Entered politics while a student. He was served as a President of PSU, Kollam District Committee and was Joint Secretary, PSU Kerala State Committee.

Now he is an active member of RSP, Kerala State Committee, President RYF State Committee, Working President, Kerala State Film Development Corporation Workers Union, Member, All Kerala Cashewnut factory workers federation State Committee, President, Cashewnut Workers Union (UTUC), Kunnathoor, Vice President Travancore Mineral Workers Union.

He is elected as Kunnathur MLA for the first time in the year 2001-2006. And again elected in the year 2006. Sasthamcotta is a part of Kunnathur Assembly Constituency.

MP - Sri. Kodikunnil Suresh (Mavelikkara Loksabha Constituency)
Kodikunnil Suresh is member of the Fifteenth Lok Sabha representing Mavelikara Constituency (Sasthamcotta / Kunnathur is a part of Mavelikkara Constituency). This is the fifth time he is being elected to the Lok Sabha. He is also the Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

He was born to Kunjan and Thankamma in Kodikkunil, Thiruvananthapuram District. He did his Graduation and passed his LL.B from Government Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1989 and thereafter in the 1991,1996, 1999 General Elections to the Lok Sabha from Adoor Constituency. He was defeated in the 1998, 2004 elections. He Served as the Member of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee and Member of AICC. He was member in different Committees of the Parliament. He won the General Election to the Lok Sabha in 2009 defeating R.S.Anil of Communist Party of India with a margin of 45059 votes.

Married to Bindu Suresh and the couple have a son.
